In 2018, Heidi, her husband, and 5 children, moved back to their roots in Teton Valley, Idaho.  Living here, she feels a great connection to her ancestors and the legacy they created.  This bond also drew her to Idaho to attend college and study Interior Design at BYU-Idaho.  Heidi’s first career step was to direct and build the Interior Design Department at a small college in Cache Valley, Utah for 10 years.  While overseeing private and residential interior design projects, she also worked as a new home construction specialist for 6 years and a kitchen & bath designer for 7 years.  When working as a Senior Designer for Snake River Interiors in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, her dream of cementing her own legacy came to fruition in 2020 when she opened Design Steps Studio.

Heidi’s experience with a wide variety of clients has taught her how to create spaces one step at a time.  This gives clients a voice during the design process and allows the design team to keep the project moving flawlessly.

Peighton Griego- Interior Designer

Peighton was born and raised in Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming with her degree in Textiles, Design and Merchandising in 2020.

She met Heidi through an internship and stayed touch until she graduated. A few months after, Heidi reached out and told her that she was opening her own company and wanted her to join her team.

Peighton’s interest in interior design began when she was a little girl. She loved building and decorating houses on a computer game. It wasn’t until Peighton took a housing class in college that she decided to make interior design a career.
